Why we don't talk before the game

We don't have time

n my experience the single-most common reason for neglecting the pregame is a lack of time. You sneak out of work an hour early, hoping the boss won't need you that afternoon. You rush across town in pre-rush-hour traffic and show up at the park about 30 minutes before game time. Ten minutes later your partner arrives, dressed for the bases. Your assignor told you he had the plate.
