Officiating.com: At the young age of 48, whatever possessed you to want to umpire?
Blair: The fact that I had a brother who umpired had something to do with it. But it was really a spur of the moment thing. I had just given up my summer commitment to my junior golf program, so I decided to give this a try.
Officiating.com: We reviewed your diary last year and noted many things you had to improve upon. What did you think was the most important thing you needed to improve entering your third year?
Blair: The biggest one was game management. Learning how to keep a guy in a game, instead of just tossing him out. That was my sole focus this year, to the point that I did let the rules aspect of it slide a little bit.
Officiating.com: With that in mind, what did you do differently this year as opposed to last year?
