Maybe it did not happen exactly as the coach said, but the coach certainly perceived it that way. I closed Part I by pointing out that the coach’s perception could have been wrong. Numerous Internet umpire boards assumed the coach was wrong and ganged up on him at that point.

But since I generally run counter to the grain, I am going to take a radical departure from my brethren and assume the coach is right. A recurring theme of mine is that coaches are smarter than umpires, so this coach will get the benefit of the doubt.
