hen I talk to new umpires about the role of an official, I often tell them that we have complete control of the game. In our position, we have the power to determine who stays and who goes. We have more power than policemen, politicians, teachers. We control every aspect of the game.
The key is to learn how to harness that power and use it appropriately.
