Fighting the Winter Bulge

'm 35,000 feet above sea level on one of those new regional jets, RJs to those "in the know," and I am finally sitting down to put pen to paper and turn out the next edition of my latest adventure.

Baseball's a comin'!

With much anticipation, I look ahead to my passion, my mistress, my "fun" job. I love the game of baseball. I started playing when I was four years old and played until I turned 18 and went to college. Not good enough to play at the upper levels, I played one season of men's league and then hung up my cleats and joined the Army. After four years in the Army, I found a way to get involved in baseball, I became an umpire. Oh me, oh my, am I having fun...and I get paid for it.
