he most important lesson I learned at camp was not the first lesson I learned. The most important lesson I learned: Don’t backpedal across the working area of the infield. At best, it is just wrong; at worst, you trip, fall down, and tear your MCL, ACL and your meniscus. You end up on the DL,  possibly for the year. Yes, the worst happened. My wife’s comment was: “How the heck can you go all the way through a war without a scratch, come home, and blow your knee while running?”

I was running backwards, my dear. That's what I should have said.

I may not have a sufficient answer for my wife, but I do have a lesson for you. Don’t ever, never, not even if a little man in green promises a pot of gold, backpedal across the infield. Turn and run and sneak a peak over your shoulder —  but run forward.
