n that September night, I decided that my season was over. Hell, five ejections in one evening equalled some of my recent yearly totals! I was burned out and pissed off. I even thought about taking off a year.

Though I have decided that taking off a year will not happen, I am still pissed. That may not be good news for the players. And I know it isn't good news for the coaches.

Back to the Future

As I get older (as opposed to getting old like Carl), my outlook on games has changed. When I began officiating, I was truly a "red-ass" umpire, very quick to get emotionally involved in the game. I often tossed people. Sometimes too often.
