In his own words, Roland tells us the following about his plate game.

My plate game had just as many confrontations with the Reds' coach. There were hit batters, girls in the dugout, smart mouthing, and gamesmanship. Perhaps it was because my game was first and feelings were not so raw that I had an easier time. After a two-hour game, everyone was about as contented as fat ticks riding on a slow dog.
