ctions speak louder than words. How you perform as an umpire speaks for itself. You are as good as you look. First, they’ll look at your uniform. Then at your walk... and your talk. Then at your style. Then at your judgment. People will believe you — as long as you give them something to believe.
You will be accepted as a credible umpire when you appear confident as you ply your trade. Your confidence will develop from your sense of competence. Your competence is a sign of how professional you wish to appear and perform.
Your umpiring will be desired because people will believe that you desire to work with them, for them, beside them — supporting them, guiding them. You will show that you enjoy the umpiring role you present on and off the field.
