f a pitcher reaches a count of one and two, the next ball is a setup for a strike three. If two out of the first three were sliders, outside pitches, snakes in the grass, the fourth pitch may be down the middle. It'll be an "I dare you to hit this one" pitch, or it will be a mistake in the same place. Either way, same result. The umpire gets to call a third strike, his favorite, an out.
