What the batter-runner does
1. B1 is running completely in fair territory.
2. B1 is running completely in foul territory.
3. B1 is straddling the foul line.
4. B1 is running with his left foot coming down on the foul line.
What the catcher does
A. The catcher does not throw, and the umpire judges the reason was his inability to see the first baseman.
B. The catcher throws wildly above the first baseman's mitt, and B1 winds up at second.
C. The catcher throws to first, but the first baseman muffs the ball, and the umpire judges the reason was his inability to see the catcher.
D. The catcher throws to first and nails B1 in the back as he is three strides from the base.
